Sparks, Nevada is Reno's quainter cousin to the east. Although it's one of Nevada's biggest cities, it's only home to one high-rise casino, so expect a more Western/country feel in this city. Reno is less than a ten minute drive from Sparks, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of America's biggest little city.

The sourness and low alcohol content of their "Aww Snapricot Weisse" is the perfect refreshment for washing down their garlic fries. Also, their home-brewed root beer is amazing. With just the right amount of carbonation and not too much sugar, it's a great choice for the younger ones. Even if you drink alcohol be sure to order one up, you won't regret it! Although nothing over the top, the food here is great too.

Tha Five-O is amazing. It's made with spicy crab, cream cheese, avocado and drizzled with Sriracha. If spicy just isn't your thing, go for Tha J-team, a perfect mixture of green beans, tempura and mushrooms. For an appetizer, you have to try the green tea creme brûlée. It's one of the most unique dishes you'll find in Sparks.

No other BBQ joint in Sparks can compare to the Carolina Kitchen & Barbeque. Their homemade sauces are quintessential Deep South style. They're vinegar based and blend in perfectly with the meat, especially the pulled pork. The crowd favorite here by far is their Hot Links. If you think you can handle it, be sure to order the Hot Links with some of their homemade Nitro sauce for some sinus clarity. For a milder dish, go with the Three Meat Combo, with ribs pulled pork and brisket.

This is THE place in Sparks for pizza lovers — it's the only entree they serve! Well, except for calzones, and if you count a salad as an entree. Speaking of salad, their spinach salad is amazing. Loaded with bacon, blue cheese crumbs and drenched in balsamic vinaigrette, it's the perfect appetizer for hungry stomachs. Most customers make their own pizza with a choice between twenty-some toppings. However, they do have a chef's menu for the more indecisive.
